RTPI Chartered Town Planning Consultants

Many planning application problems and refusals result from a lack of professional input.

Before appointing an agent to act on your behalf you should question whether or not they are appropriately qualified. Many self-styled 'planning consultants' or 'development consultants' possess no Planning qualifications whatsoever; even other professionals who operate in this area such as architects, builders, solicitors and surveyors seldom possess any professional Planning qualifications.

A lack of Planning expertise, in addition to jeopardising the success of your application or appeal, can result in additional costs and delays as a result of unnecessary redrafts of drawings or the commissioning of superfluous surveys. It can also result in you spending significant sums on schemes that have no real chance of success.

Chartered Town Planning Consultants are the professionals in this field. The Royal Town Planning Institute or RTPI is the governing body for Chartered Town Planning Consultants. Chartered Town Planners must have a degree in Town Planning and have a number of years experience in spatial planning. They must also meet the highest professional standards and adhere to the RTPI Code of Conduct.

By appointing a Chartered Town Planner you can be confident in the knowledge that they have the necessary professional qualifications and expertise, and the ability to provide you with the most effective and cost-efficient planning solutions. Local Authorities employ Chartered Town Planners to determine planning applications, so make sure you have a Chartered Town Planner on your side, representing your interests.
